Saffron, situated in the heart of Cochrane, is a bright and colourful contemporary gallery with
a unique collection of artistic expressions created by artists from across Canada. It is a gallery
with spice. Saffron has an eclectic collection of painting, jewellery, handblown glassware,
handbags, pottery and a variety of other beautifully designed wares. Tara Torr, Saffron’s owner
and operator, is widely supported by more than 80 different artists and designers, all of them
Canadian and handpicked to suit Saffron’s contemporary style. You can meet local artists at
the galley several times a week, or take a pottery class for adults or for children. Dominating
the collection are local artists from the west coast. Within Alberta, Edmonton provides
calendars and other illustrations from valérydesignwrks, textile bags from Lines Designs and
Lemonade, jewellery from Handmade on Venus and fine wall art. Artists such as Marianne
Jespersen from the Calgary area constitute the majority of colorful fine wall art displayed
in Saffron. From British Columbia come the necklaces and earrings of Gingerly Designs
and stylish bags from Kairos Designs. Whether your search is for fine art paintings, gifts or
funky fashion accessories, Saffron promotes individuality and f lair in all of the their talented
