designXchange
“We live in a disposable society where things are constantly changing,” says Katie Guidon,
“but there will always be people looking for originals of lasting value.” For those people, Katie
offers designXchange, a place to buy and sell interiors, furniture and accent pieces. Katie works
with hundreds of vendors to select upscale and sophisticated consignment items for her shop.
Ceiling tiles are among the most popular items. “We sell a ton of them,” says Katie. Other
visitors come looking specifically for stained glass and architectural pieces. But you can find
a trendy new piece here just as well as a classic. The building itself is a classic, the old Punkin
Hollow schoolhouse built in 1874. Katie loves it when folks drop by with their half-formed
ideas. She’ll ask a few questions to draw out their needs, so she can lead them to items in the
shop that might interest them. Combining natural talent with classes in the field, she has been
an interior designer since 1998. “Big box stores represent the ordinary,” she says. “My small
boutique provides the extraordinary.” For timeless originals that will never go out of style, shop
at designXchange.
