Trolley Dogs
Best Hot Dogs in Kenosha
You do not have to go to Chicago to get a great Chicago style hot dog. At Trolley Dogs in
downtown Kenosha, this quintessential all-American summertime favorite gets the toppings
and respect it deserves. Brothers Frank and Joe Catuara opened the eatery in 2003 with the
slogan Dogs So Great You’ll Scrape Your Plate. Polish sausage, Italian beef and corn dogs
are some of the breeds you can sample. Try chili or cheese on your dog, or for a Wisconsin
variation order the Kenosha dog, covered with cheddar cheese. Try a tamale topped with chili
and cheese or variations like the Mother-in-Law, a tamale on a bun, and the Trolley Dog, a dog
and a tamale on the same bun. You can match everything up with fries, cheese fries or chili
cheese fries. Inside the restaurant, model trolley cars on a track circle the ceiling. Frank and
Joe first fell in love with hot dogs in high school when they pushed a hot dog cart in Chicago.
They went on to establish careers in the world of business. A public television special on hot
dog vendors inspired the brothers to open Trolley Dogs in an historic building that was once
the Longshoreman’s Union Hall. The location is a prime one, downtown’s closest spot to the
HarborPark development. The Catuaras are proud to support their youthful staff, who are some
of the politest kids around. Come to Trolley Dogs, where Every Bite Is a Delight.
